INTRODUCTION
CHAMPIONING NURSING EXCELLENCE IN AFRICA: GLOBAL EXPERTISE, STRONGER RESILIENT SYSTEMS, AND SUSTAINABLE HEALTHCARE FUTURE.
Theme: Empowered Nurses, Strengthen Healthcare Systems, Building Excellence for a Resilient and Sustainable Nursing Future
The All African Nursing & Medical Career Upgrade Expo 2026 is a dynamic, high-impact event created to empower and unite nurses and nursing experts across multiple fields. It brings together nurse entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, telehealth innovators, nursing education and coaching teams, health policy advisors, regulatory board members, humanitarian and disaster-response nurses (WHO, UN, Red Cross), NGO program managers, and global health specialists for a three-day nursing career training development program in Abuja. The Expo also aligns with and supports the Sustainable Development Goal by advancing healthcare innovation and driving economic growth. This three-day event will provide training for African nurses led by experts from across the globe, while showcasing the vital role nurses play as builders of national healthcare systems, pioneers in research innovation, and leaders in career development and research.
The Expo will conclude with a Gala & Awards Night, celebrating nurses who are breaking barriers in healthcare systems, education, research, and community development. Nurses from all regions of Nigeria, representing all 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will participate in the Expo for career growth and professional development. Each Nigerian state will be represented by 50 nurses.

Additionally, nurses from across Africa will take part in the Expo:
- Northern Africa – 7 countries
- Western Africa – 15 countries
- Central Africa – 9 countries
- Eastern Africa – 18 countries
- Southern Africa – 4 countries
Each participating African country will send 100 nurses to Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria, for the Expo. During the event, attendees will engage in specialized short-term nursing courses with certification, while also building global connections and collaborative opportunities. Furthermore, this event will highlight nurses’ essential contributions as architects of national healthcare systems, innovators in research, and champions of professional growth. The Expo will culminate in a Gala & Awards Night, celebrating nurses who are breaking new ground in healthcare, education, research, and community development.

Anna Qabale Duba
(Kenya)
Kenyan nurse and epidemiologist who advocates against female genital mutilation and early marriage. Winner of the first Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award; used her award to build a school in her rural community.
Khadija Mohamed Juma
(Kenya) Young Kenyan nurse-innovator.

Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti
